Phase II

Objectives (2025 - 2027)

  1. Conduct Knowledge Assessments

    • Administer pre- and post-training evaluations to gauge school staff’s understanding and ability to apply child abuse reporting procedures effectively.

  2. Provide On-Site Training

    • Deliver practical, hands-on sessions to strengthen individual skills and collective expertise in recognizing and reporting child abuse.

  3. Enhance the National Online Reporting Assistant (NORA)

    • Enhance NORA’s functionality to generate “review-ready” reports, streamlining the process for child safety professionals to review and make decisions.

  4. Validate NORA for Reporting

    • Ensure NORA is ready to serve as a key platform for schools to efficiently report non-urgent child abuse and neglect concerns through development and controlled testing.

  5. Foster Collaboration with State and Local Agencies

    • Build partnerships with child welfare agencies to align training content and NORA’s functionality with their operational needs.

  6. Develop Follow-Up Support Resources

    • Provide accessible resources (e.g., FAQs, video tutorials) and facilitate on-site visits by retired CPS Works to offer real-time guidance and support for school staff post-training.

  7. Measure and Communicate Impact

    • Establish clear metrics to track the success of training and NORA adoption, and regularly report these results to stakeholders to maintain engagement and transparency.

  8. Integrate Feedback Mechanisms

    • Implement a system for collecting ongoing feedback from school staff and child safety professionals to refine training and improve NORA’s usability.

  9. Address Accessibility and Inclusivity

    • Ensure that NORA and training materials are accessible to diverse populations, including multi-language options and support for individuals with disabilities.
